At first I thought things wouldn't be very festive in Pittsburgh since there was no snow in December. But the outdoor Christmas market took me right into the holiday spirit. Was this my chance to finally see Santa? Keep reading!
With even more Christmas music happening (actually, it was a karaoke competition) we strolled through the market and picked up some gifts for loved ones back home. It is a very international market and I was able to get some Polish and Ukrainian Christmas ornaments for my family.
Chatting with some of the vendors, they tell me that visitors have been from all over the world.
There were a lot of tourists checking out the display as we visited in the afternoon but also a lot of office workers in the area came by.
At first I didn't think I would buy very much because I didn't have cash on me but don't worry, most of the booths accept credit card.
After spending a bunch of money, I made my way down a side street to an outdoor skating rink. Yes, even with the unseasonably mild weather, you can lace up some skates and go in circles around a giant Christmas tree. I have to admit, I have never seen ski boots used as skates. The ones you can rent at PPG Place don't have laces.
